Assorted Weekend Cartoony Type Pictures

This darling lass is from you-know-who.

Kyle likes you.
Jack is all about hardcore.
Love is everything.

Jack means it when he sings.

Below: My brilliant concept man Marc Deckter came up with this daring idea for every day apparel.
Then I rushed to execute:

The Dark Duck reminds me of the Angry Duck from "Altruists"

"COOL STUFF!"

Yay naked love fun!

Anyone else would fall short trying to make these two real-life goofballs into living, breathing cartoon characters. Kyle looks like Elmer Fudd's great grandson!! This looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun.

this is going to be good. even my friend who is an outsider in the world of cartoons and John K is talking about how "John K is doing the opening for this movie". it's getting a lot of hype, and i bet it's going to be better than what we expect. these teasers are making me excited

"Is that little devil or gremlin doing what I think he's doing to that duck's ear?!"

"OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!"

This is the craziest and funniest damn thing I have ever seen in my life!

You are the master John!

Why is that demon pegging that duck in the ear? Did I really see that or do I have heatstroke from the Japanese summer?

The rock anger in Jack Black is immense and you captured it so well!

In Aussie rhyme slang, the last word of a sentence is the rhymed word...so...

"Ride the dark duck" would be, Ride the dark *uck" (use your imagination).

Watch out for low flying ducks!

WOAH!

Just as I was playing guitar then I realised I have a couple of Tenacious D guitar picks from a few years back when they played Australia, so I posted 'em on my blog if any one would like to check 'em out.

Let us know John when we can get our hands on that sweet TD T, I need some new great band shirts and that one would truly ROCK your f@*%in socks off!

"Jack means it when he sings."

Right on! Honestly, I hate some of the movies he's been in, but the D is so awesome, it more than makes up for it. Jack is one of my favorite vocalists ever.

Unrelated shit, but I showed a long-time fan some Lost Episodes tonight. She seemed to like it quite a lot. I also told her you were doing some stuff for the Tenacious D movie and she seemed pretty stoked. Just doing my part. I really want to see some more cool cartoons. I want as many people as possible to demand them as well.

Ducks are awesome creatures. I can't draw them worth a shit. I had pet ducklings. They were murdered by a raccoon. It was sad.

How much stuff with Jack are you going to be able to do? The designs remind me a bit of Ed Benedict's Flintstones designs. Not as on model, but capable of working as a similar kind of sitcom character were you to make anything.

Do you have anything lined up with Jack for additional cartoon goodness outside the music video and opening?

You took a few liberties with Marc Deckter's designs, but they work so I'm sure he won't complain. I like that super hero chick at the top too. Will she be in any upcoming projects or is she just a doodle?

Oh, and by the way............. HAPPY 51ST BIRTHDAY, JOHN!!!!

I love the dark duck! If you make some T-shirts I will be happy!
I have a surprise for you, look at my blog!
I hope you have a nice day! :)

>Jack is all about hardcore.

Tenacious D dones't play hardcore music do they? I thought they played Rock & Roll.

Besides, he's making the Metal horns, not a Hardcore gesture.

Great pics, thought! I like the Duck Riders!

The fourth drawing is completely wild, I love it! I like the clean-up line in the first three drawings too.

Hi there John, I'm a young self taught animator who has just landed his first job working on worthy pre-school children's animation for the BBC.
I live to animate So in the little spare time I have to motivate myself to finish my own cartoon projects. Which is easy whenever I lay eyes on either an illistration, or cartoon of yours (especially George Liquor). I wondered if I could send you one of my finished pieces called 'Flat Cheese'? You've been a massive inspiration, and your Blog really helps me develop my skills. Thanks

I hope that's just a rough. You're of course going to do a much nicer drawing with more love and time put into it, right?

'Cause if you do I'd buy that shirt and a million for all my friends!

By the by, Happy Belated Birthday my most favorite cartoon hero!

Oh It was your birthday, well Happy Birthday John.

I wanted to ask you a question or give you a suggestion.

I think you should team up with Danny Antonucci, Matt Groening, Joe Murray, Mike Judge and David Feiss to make the most WILDEST CARTOON MOTION PICTURE ON THE PLANET! I believe that I'll become a ledgand in it's own right. It'll totaly bring on the legacy of Bob Clampett and all other cartoonists in that right. From my research, you and those guys have a huge interest in the old 40s animated shorts. I swear, if this is actualy done, who knows where it could go from here. It'll be awesome!!!!!!!
What do you think John? I know that you personally know David and Mike, but how about Matt, Danny and Joe?

Here's a question for you considering the vibe on your blog [and actually really considering the last entry]. You seem to continuously dig on cartoons such as the Simpsons considering thier animation style, but it isn't as much the animation you seem to hate but what they DO with it, i.e.: Flinstones does a bit of the impossible. But I would just like to point out that the Simpsons also does the impossible, as seen in this clip [begins around minute one and never stops- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMIVBwwmZDk]. You seem to enjoy animation which doesn't play by rules of reality, and diss animation which treats reality like a dream, i.e., you are human and the world turns awry. Im just wondering. And happy birthday too.

the dark duck definitely conjures memories of the altruist angry smoking duck.
I wrote that letter oh so long ago with plot and charcter ideas!

Here's a 3 part list of things that made my day:

1Black Velvet Mexican Elvis (and the triangle nipple gag),
2The cat/duck drag, mating and birth (in triplet), and the kids getting blackjacked in the basement
3And Shampoo Master (+ the window squeegee pubic shave and wax w/good parts)

3.5 Also, the "400 story bunk bed line" and the request for goofy sketch characters in the insert; your pic (to see what you look like). Also the weenies popping out of the pot in in the preggers episode).
John, is there anyway you could send me a skecth or a letter, so i don't look like a frickin nut to my freinds, when i say that John K. used some of my ideas? (also i had no idea you were Canadian) * (all the cheesecake in naked beach does help your male contignecy feel more hetero, thanks).
