I'm sure you can tell these are Katie's designs. I have been assigned to draw them from different angles and do some poses.

It's challenging when a designer does new specific shapes that you haven't drawn before, but it's also fun and forces you to rewire your brain and kick it out of formula mode.

Holy Crap John! These are the best girls I think I have seen from you.. A great collaboration
First post! These are really cool designs, alot more angular than we're used to. Anyone who thinks they have Katie's "style" nailed down is going to have a hell of a time with these brand new looking designs. What variety!
What happened to her blog?
Is that Hot Stuff on the box?
YEAH, THE FIRST COMENT...
te lo digo en castellano, sos el dibujante mas grande de los ultimos años, despues de Tex Avery. Que alegría que tengas un blog, sos genial.
sería un honor que veas nuestro blog...

thank you for your art!
amazing
You bastard. I'm getting these horrible images of a cramped carnival ride, Ray, and Ralph. And only room for one ass on the seat, so everyone's in each others' lap. They're both fine individuals but neither is someone I'd wanna be that intimate with. Aaaagh.
Peggy,
I think you have just broken some hearts big time.
The third girl down looks a bit like Mae West methinks.
All those girls look great, especially the one punching someone out. I'd love my main heroine in Fetal Squad to be able to kick ass just like that. B)
Whoops! I meant the fourth girl down looks like Mae West.
oh man - absent minded and tubetop are killer.
Hi John
These drawings of yours are really cool. I love the Jack Black CD cover thing. You and Katie Rice do cool cartoon designs!
Jesse
Excellent poses and expression. It's interesting seeing this fusion between Katie's designs and your take on them.
And the Jack Black box looks great! Is the minimal color supposed to be reminiscent of vintage toy packaging? If so it's perfect. Or is this just a preliminary design?
hey John,
I have a question for you. A long time ago, I saw a Terrytoons cartoon that was a rip-off of the DoDo cartoons of Clampett and Freleng. This is not the cartoon "Dingbat land" (1949), this is another one. Instead of Dingbat, the character was a more direct copy of the DoDo. The role of porky was played by a typical British hunter. Do you know the name of the cartoon or its year of origin? I'm trying to find it again. Does any of this sound familiar? Know where I could watch or get this cartoon?
An answer either way would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Are these for a show that the two of you are working on?
I like "indecisive", and I really like the packaging. But why does it say "www.johnkricfalusi.net" on it? That crappy site hasn't been updated in a year! Did you even have anything to do with that site?
Goodness, Katie's incredible. Her contrast of large, small, and medium shapes is astounding. Anyway, I really dig all the drawings though. I thought the last batch of animal drawings lacked a bit in the design department. These surely make up for it.
Those drawings are so beautiful! Sophisticated designs + a veteran artist= perfection. They are super inspiring...
That little incubus, he's so cute!
a plastic jack surely cures a broken heart.
"TUBETOP" and "Absent Minded".....FANTASTIC RENDERINGS!!! Great flowing shapes, soft and smooth.
Can You tell us what thie is for? It seems you like to be Mysterious!!!
john, i love cartoons. I draw them, but I find myself drawing realistically, but I don't want to. I just have this itch in my brain that won't let me leave a drawing unproportioned. My characters usually have really proportioned bodies and cartoony heads. But not like anime- I try not repeat the same face over and over.
Wonderful art. They look like they're moving and filled with life but that's impossible... they're merely 2-dimensional pencil sketches...
Aren't they? Aren't they?!!?
"They're both fine individuals but neither is someone I'd wanna be that intimate with. Aaaagh."
Although I whole-heartedly agree, if you can't say something nice...
There's a lot of bullshit going down in the world today, but when I'm reminded of the fact that the D is working with John K to entertain me, all seems right with the world.
Haa....Jack in the Box!
partusa de muñecas!
The girl in the seventh image looks so terrific.
I could stare at it for hours!
*stares at it for hours*
Man, you make it look so simple! I'm really liking these drawings. The look on those girls are nicely done.
Yeah, I also love the absent minded one, she looks incredibly cute and real. The rest of the stuff is not totally my thing (I think I actually like your designs more than Katie's, but it's pretty cool anyway). I like the tubetop girl too, she looks quite pretty, but a little more generic than the others. The gemini ones are very specific and different designs, but I don't like them so much (probably because the style is pretty new and I have to get acustommed -sp?- to it).
those Katie designs are freakin' awesome! the drawings are so full of movement! that box art is great. i know i'm buying one.
Wow I LOVE the designs of the two twins! Very cool characters, lots of personality in the drawings you did of them as well!
-Robert
Oh how adorable. The absent-minded girl looks really nice. She does the best girly drawings, bar none. Slightly off-topic...will you be doing custom sketches again sometime in the future?
A martin - hola! Perdone mi espanol...espero que lo entiende. No he hablado espanol en dos anos. Su blog es muy feliz. Me gusta sus ilustraciones. Espero que John mira su blog y hace un comentario.
Those girls are looking very cute! ;)
Nice CD case design John!:)
