Look What Brian Did
Hey Brian Romero took it upon himself to ink and color one of the pencil roughs I did of Sody Pop and Raketeena the Imp From The Future. http://brian-romero.blogspot.com/

I think its great. Everything that made the original is retained... Expressions, linework, etc.... Good Job.

this is about the last post, i don't know if it's right to say it in this one but i have the feeling after you do a new one you don read the old coments
any way. in the studio where i work not only the secretary of the head of the studio directs the voice actors but she also supervises the scrip, the storyboard and even the designs of the characters!!!!!!!!! A f.... secretary man!!!!!!!!!!!! no training, no skill, no TALENT what so ever!!!! and she wins twice as much as an animator does!!! that's f...ing stupid! how could the owner, the guy responsable for the quality, and succes of the movie let his SECRETARY to be in charge??????????

Constructively? I think the pupils should have remained black. Part of the expression is the crazy, surprised look and, personally, I think dark pupils would have enhanced that expression.
Otherwise, I think the fabric lines are gorgeous and the hair is beautiful.

Looks very nice! There are a couple areas that could use a tiny bit of work... such as the missing front body line in the gap between dress and and legs, the pupils changed shape from the original and the curved fringe on the dress edge was handled differently than the sketch may have called for. Other than those very minor details it looks really good. Especially the skin tones, hair, highlights and all the linework. Very true to the original!

Thanks to John and everybody for the kind words! I thought by inking and coloring this I could learn a few things.
John, maybe you could post some of the critique you gave me. As much as any artists loves a pat on the back the feedback/criticism you gave me was great. It's hard to clean up a very energetic drawing like that one without losing some of the original feel. Details get lost and some of the quirkiness gets smoothed out by the conservative side of my brain.
Akira, the art was all done in Adobe Illustrator. I've made a few simple custom brushes that work with the pressure sensitivity of my Wacom. They get a fairly decent "inking with a sable hair brush" feel. The advantage is I get more than one shot at each line!
