If you want an idea of how much fun this will be, read the comments from the San Francisco show last year:

I might make the trip from Pittsburgh to Chicago this weekend. Would you be excited to see me, John?
Right on! Just bought my tix.
Ah well, I guess it's Chicago's turn now. No SF show this year or even San Jose :(.
I also wished I could go :)

See you there John!
Been looking forward to this for some time! Got my tickets & I'm ready to gorge myself on cartoon goodness.
Hey John
Do you like the work of Bill Plympton?
bill plympton is amazing.
Hey, where's that post on Joanna Quinn you promised??
Hey, John, I met Bill Plympton; he was in an animation convention here in the Basque country! This is its website:
http://www.animabasauri.com/
He drew a cartoon for everyone of us there, in the theater. He seemed a nice guy and I usually enjoy his stuff.
When I was going home, I thought how awesome would it be if one of these years they'd invite you to this convention! Though I don't know if you use to travel so far to promote your cartoons.
DAMMIT!
The one time you come to the Midwest, I already have plans to go to effin' Detroit.
I'd be there otherwise.
Gimme some more notice next time, if you can!
You guys should go! It'll most likely be lots of laugh and full of fun!
so when are you coming to the middle-of-nowhere, NJ?
Hope you have a great time!
Your all famous and stuff. Wow! Bill Plypton with you.
There was a project on the internet once where a bunch of different animators all worked on this one long project. Joe Cartoons, Camp Chaos, and some others. And they all had 1 simple storyline to follow - and they where all supposed to add a short animated piece to the story. But they got to do whatever they wanted as long as it stuck the the basic story. The result was awesome!
Maybe you famous animation guys should work on a project like that. You do a piece, and Plympton adds a piece, and so on. Course - the value isn't so much monitary as it is just getting to do something fun for a change. And see what different results comes out of each artist. What different spin and vision each different artist adds to a similar theme.
I'm in Seattle, sorry I can't make it out to Chicago for this rare event. Sounds like lots of fun!
I will be there for the saturday kiddie show! Even though I'm 24...
Hurrah!
That will be pretty sweet. Hey John where were you when Bill was over at the Sunset 5? I walked over and caught a showing...it's a cool flick.
that's awesome. what a team-up. I wish you guys would bring the show to London this summer!
have a blast!
Wow, that's sweet. Nothing's ever in Chicago. I think I'll be attending.
This is amazing!
John Kricfalusi AND Bill Plympton?
Together?
Unusual!
All this while, John's been harping about how uncartoony most cartoons from the last few decades have become, I doubt that Plympton's toons would qualify.
And yet there they are! Opening a fest together!
John, u should talk more about your friendship with Bill Plympton in your next blog, how you and Bill met, and your judgement on the "tooniness" of his work.
Oh, and when are going to touch on EXPOSURE SHEETS?! We students want to know how to use those darn fool pieces of dead trees.
We're calling you out on the Ex-sheets, Mr K.!
You have literally the craziest blog I have ever read. Somehow it works for you though.
hiya john. do you know if you're doing any kinda shows like this in june? i'm visiting the US first time next month..
