I had naively referred to them as 'muzzlebulbs' in the past. How much I still have to learn.

Wow! That's the most sexually charged keyhole I've ever seen!

that background is on par with any avant garde stuff from jones and certainly beyond UPA

I just bought the Ren & Stimpy seasons 1&2 dvd set and I wanted to thank you for making me laugh so much! i watched these episodes like ten years ago. now i am studying animation at it was like watching them for the first time. The Podwered toast man episode, a masterpiece! and i just can't stop watching a scene from "Rubber nipple salesmen", when they knock on the horse's door... god! a truly great inspiration.

Here's a questions that's been bugging me: Directly after this "doorhole" scene, the dopey-looking cat tries to hide by jumping under the bed...But it looks like he jumps ON the bed, and suddently disappears in the matter of one or two drawings(looks like a mistake in the animation)..Was that the animator's fault, or a glitch in the DVD do to "remastering"?

Chloe: Muzzlebulbs is great! You should trademark it and rent it to me.

Eddie: Shame on your dirty ass mind.

Natebear:

There is a lot of great design and artistic stuff in Clampett cartoons that goes by unnoticed (especially by critics!)because you are too distrracted by the sheer volume of ideas and entertainment happening at the same time. I can watch these cartoons hundreds of times and still find more things I never saw before.

The BG layouts in this cartoon are inspired by one of Clampett's heroes, Milt Gross.

Dr. Braino: You're more than welcome!

Shawn: I think that is a shooting mistake in the original cartoon. The bed should be on an overlay on top of the cat.

Among cat aficionados and breeders those parts of the face are known as whisker pads, although for these cartoony kitties "muzzlebulbs" (or balls) is far more descriptive.

My mind keeps referring to the rather frank things Norm MacDonald said about Joe Camel on Dennis Miller's program some years back.

Joe Camel is what Ruby-Spears would have done with money.

One of my favorites John. I like the part when the little cat goes "The cheese?", and Sylvester smacks the crap out of him (Twice!)

That is probably the greatest scene ever in cartoons. It is so funny and animated so funny and perfectly timed.

Is it Manny Gould?
