John Mccain and Hillary?

Politicos? :)

I have a request - can you discuss the theory behind a certain mouth shape they used to use a lot in the 60s and 70s? The typical Fred Flintstone, Hanna-Barbera male mouth where the line from the nose to the upper lip plus the mouth itself form sort of a backwards 5 like this:

fred pic

It's kind of a 3/4 cheat.

Who did these?

I also concur that an Obama sculpture should be made. Maybe even make an ironic bowling trophy for him.

With all respect, John, I believe that you are an eminence, the absolute artist; and I really admire your work and your knowledge; and I do not more than learn and learn with each new post of this blog. And I hope someday to learn to make animation. My humble greetings from Argentina.

The Hillary one needs a larger upper leg and hip structure.

---You mean that's NOT Don Rickles?
It looks a bit like Pete Emslie's caricature of Mr.
If it was McCain, wouldnt he be holding a key to the Hanoi Hilton?
Or is Hanoi Hilton Paris' ugly sister?

Hey, John!

the following is just an idea I had that I haven't completely thought through, but figured might interest you...

I was on another interesting blog that I got linked to through a book I bought at your recommendation (Cartoon Modern - I enjoyed your comments on Hanna Barbara, btw). The blog in question is at the following location for reference (http://cartoonbrewfilms.com/).

The reason I mention the previous blog is that they have an interesting thing going where you can buy animated shorts and commercials for a small fee of $2.00.

I thought it would be interesting for you to do the same but with a more personal twist. Maybe be a director to select animators who bring their ideas to you. You could arrange the work through the internet quite easily, and in the end you and the animator can sell the final product on the internet on your blog or wherever you wish.

You would have complete creative freedom as a director, willing animators, no salaries, and everyone from independent animators to students benefit from collaborating with you. You also make money in a few different ways, which can continue for as long as you want to sell the final products.

In the long run you could sell a DVD set called the John K Collection (or whatever you would want to call it), and your animators get to work with a legend and have a nice portfolio sample (or samples).

Just a thought.

Best regards,

Dave Stevens
(Kadoogan)

P.S. The previous entry is more of a personal note than a post, but you can post elements of it if you want to put this forth to anyone out there.

Hahahaha! Awesome.

Kadoogan/ Dave, John pioneered that same idea- 10 YEARS ago- on the old Spumco site- I think you paid 2 bucks for John K.'s Interactive Christmas Cartoon Special. It was very cool- John, could you elaborate?

Hey John,
Have you seen
These
?

If so, do you or anyone else know who did them??? I can't find the name of the artist to save my life. They're amazing.

what are those made with?

Without a doubt these are both fun looking toys and, if manufactured and sold, will prove to be very collectible. I'd love to see a Bill Clinton, Condi Rice, GWBush, Dick Cheney and Michael Chertoff (Dept of Homeland Security - he's absolutely creepy looking and weirdly funny to look at ...).
If you can get a concession booth on the floor of both the Democratic and Republican conventions, you'd clean up.

Now that I looked at them more closely, I have a question about the McCain statue. Is he holding a grenade or a small Christmas ham?

Gavin Freitas said...

McCain is dead on and I like Hillary's teeth. Is this your stuff Hryma?

Kadoogan said...

John & Bill,

I must have missed that on the Spumco site back when.

I was fortunate enough catch several online flash webisodes of George Liquor, and managed to download some sketches that were on the site at the time. I miss the old Spumco site (sigh).

Did the Christmas Episode mentioned sell well enough? Or should I just abandon the suggestion of John K. directing for all of us hapless masses of wannabe animators?

Let me guess the Bill Clinton one's off in the back with Sody, right?
I have to admit,I cant really blame Bill for fooling around on Hillary, she's a real dog!

degrussaband said...

does this mean there's a clay animation coming soon?

Fuzzy Duck said...

You got Clinton's hair and McCain's mouth perfectly. They both look amazing.

How about those Bug Out Bob, or Obie stress toys, where the ears and eyes pop out. A Bug Out Obama toy would be great.
