We all like cartoons here, most people would see all of us as immature on some level. Who cares?
Also, John that is the first rabbit with down syndrome I've ever seen.

There should be a reality show where a guy goes into a bar dressed in that bear costume and tries to get laid.

Yep. When I wear Yogi custumes while mowing the lawn, I mature REAL fast, when the neighbors run over to beat the crap out of me. That's called discipline!
I think what he's saying is that nostalgia is okay. If you collect old toys or old comics because it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, okay then.
HOWEVER: If you're an adult and you're accepting super-powered folk running around in their underwear as serious literature...well, there's something really weird about that.

Thank God for hand-me-downs. I was lucky enough to have some things like this interspersed with my playthings. I particularly remember a set of these which are probably now all torn to heck by my siblings. I had some newer stuff too, but the older more cartoony stuff was always my favorite.
BTW, that cartoon project I posted a while back is a finalist in the contest. (It's the third one)

So there's something "seriously weird" about the Watchmen graphic novel being awarded a Hugo, and appearing on Time Magazine's list of the 100 best English language novels from 1923 to present?

And, as I don't get thrills from reading comics that are almost like real books, I saw nothing special about it.
Guy: Well, to each their own. As for myself, I see nothing "weird" about considering as serious literature stories which feature superheroes and masked crimefighters (Watchmen, Sandman, The Spirit) regardless of whether or nor they appear in the form of a graphic novel or a "real" book.
REAL TOYS...I get weepy looking all that quality plastic crap!
John,is the cub/gopher type creature with the red bow on the right hand in pic 10 a nightlight? It looks nearly identical to one I had nearly 40 yrs ago(I'm 42).Happy memories.

I've been saying for years that McKimson's chr designs are all kinda rodentine-looking,with the big jaws and the tiny skulls.There are toons I swear where Bugs looks exactly like the Goophy Gophers.As an animator,thanks for a highly informative and fun blog that spruiks for quality in animation.
