if you copy these, try building them up carefully with construction, so that we really feel how the forms are wrapped around the poses, and that all the shapes are interrelated.
smile affects the cheeks, cheeks affect the eyes
body flows along line of action
flesh feels like flesh, soft and meaty, stuck to the construction and pulled along the line of action
Dammit, I won't give up ! I'll try drawing GL again tommorow. I love those expressions BTW, all from Man's Best Friend. I also loved the way you delivered this line John:
I also won't give up, even though it's being pretty hard for me to get it quite right...I'm also drawing some poses of my own, though I'm having trouble with some things, like the size of the jab, when inventing a pose I'm not sure if I should make the chin long or short or it depends of the pose. Of course, I don't give up copying the originals, but once in a while I like to try to create some of them.
I DO have to give up during this week though, I've a lot of job right now making illustrations for a book.
I have to admit, at first I thought I wouldn't enjoy drawing George but then when I started drawing him... I realized he's actually a lot of fun to draw!
Can you post some Sody drawings to try and draw? :)
I'll continue with George in a week or so. I posted some more Sody doodles here just for fun. I'd like to know if they are half-decent or not, though I'd probably get how to draw her better when we start copying her drawings.

"SHUT UP ! You're next! MEEESTER DOGGY TREAT !" LOL !
I did a few small gestural expressions - trying to get a feel for the character
rough gestures of George
Hi John!
I could really use some feedback, good or (probably) bad!
Here it is: George with fist

This is a great practise again, thanks!
I just started with the first lessons. But the drawings keep on coming.

George must be doing reverse bench press because he has some defined pectorals on his back there.
I just pulled out my R & S DVDs and remembered how much I LOVE old George Liquor, American! As you draw him "Don't be stingy with your love!!"
If you haven't yet seen Weird Al's "Close, but no cigar" by John K. you are missing out. And if you don't watch it, "Oh, what I'm going to do to you!"
Thanks for the comment John. With the next ones I'll try to loosen up and make him less wooden. I think I can now that I'm starting to figure him out.
I posted my last attempt and my caricature
HERE
Thanks a million

I love these expressions. They're all so perfect, and any little thing off breaks them.
Anyway, here are my feeble attempts to recreate these masterpieces. Click
Awesome John!

Awesome poses and expressions!
HERE is my attempt to draw the last one (the action pose). I'll try to do the rest in the following two days.
