Malibu Beach Party Caricature Night

Kali got a job doing caricatures at a party in Malibu and asked me to join in on the fun.
That's Emma above. The party was in her honor.
Here's her kid brother, Ellis who is a budding artist himself.
Here are the party organizers and their flattertures.

Kali knows her eyebrow biology.

These crazy girls came back twice.

These girls actually asked me to draw them making goofy faces. I made them hold their expressions until they froze that way forever.

Pilar looked kinda sick affter I showed her the picture, but I think Rose was happy.
There is always a magician every place I have done caricatures. We go together.

Here's Kali's buddy James and his doe. James got Kali the gig.
Some man and his happy seed.

Wow, most of those are incredibly accurate. I must say Olivia still looks quite better than your caricature in their second picture, but I guess artists can take some licenses...

I think my sons would soil themselves if you showed up at a party and drew them Stimpy farting Ren into the air.

Hiya Mr K

This is quite off topic, but I just stumbled across a blog featuring some really great scans of old ViewMaster slides that depict very cool 3D sculptures of classic Hanna Barbara characters and others... thought you might like to have a look-see. Cheers!

Hey john, totally off topic but...

I know you and your dislike for 3d animation, and was wondering what you thought of Pixar's newest short, Presto.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=dV0v09U30eE

they aimed for it to be an omage to Tom and Jerry, and warner bros stuff in general. even with this short preview, I think this it has a lot of appeal. love the cartoony gags.

Along with more classic looking character design that give off nice negative shapes, (mainly with the rabbit) they also tried to make the motion blur a bit more solid looking. its not radically different but with more work this blur could have potential later on to look more hand drawn/painted.

Nice caricatures John & Kali!

Just one question: What kind of markers do you use for this work?

Boy, that party got their money's worth!

Just awesome.

These people will become something big someday, unlike me.

A talentless loser with no friends.

"Some man and his happy seed."

You really know how to play with words. The word seed would probably cross my mind once or twice and then be bludgeoned by "sperm knocker" and "birthing log".

Why?

Oh, and John, what markers are those?
