I like the blonde profile one that looks like a lumpy mongoloid, hahaha.
Those are very tall girls! Look more like women to me. har de har har harI like Drucker's caricatures best!
I'm somewhat surprised Drucker wasn't featured in Craig Yoe's book "Clean Cartoonists, Dirty Drawings." There's something sex kittenish about so many of the women he draws.
A weird side note, Mort Drucker did some Illustrative work for the group Anthrax, a very interesting contrast to the images you have highlighted here.
Until this blog, I had never heard of nor seen a Bob Hope comic in my life, nor had known Mort Drucker's work outside of Mad Magazine and great movie marquee posters. The women are all great, stylized, sexy and individual, but I am partial to the large chinned blond nurse graphic, as that seems closest to the Mort Drucker style I'm most familiar. Drucker's caricatures definitely had a lot of love and attention.
Here's a link to a page with Mort Drucker images, especially these ladies.
Did Drucker ever draw for Archie?- trevor.
Great stuff. It doesn't even look like the Mort Drucker I knew from Mad. Now I have to collect MORE old comics!! My mom already wants to kick me out!!
I think this comes across as a very elegant style. Its appealing and i like hot the lips are drawn and the occasional unconnected line. Interesting!
HE LOVES GIRL PROFILES...ME TOO!
I would have thought I knew Drucker's work well from "Mad", but I wouldn't have guessed just from seeing them that these drawings were his. In the second drawing, the blonde in the red on the far left distinctly resembles Barbara Eden. In the fourth drawing, the redhead who knows the judge recalls a young Lucille Ball. But if any of the other faces were modeled on famous beauties, I don't recognize them.
Hey John! It's Kristin.Just letting you know that I'm still drawing and visiting your blog.I still think you're the best cartoonist out there, and I still want to learn to draw better.Anyway, just letting you know that I haven't given up. I STILL wanna be a cartoonist!
Some comic artists just had that skill for drawing attractive females. Others just never could get the knack.
