I'm trying to think of a more attractive babe in animation and i'm hard pressed! ( Excuse the pun John! ) Your fans will love you long time for this post.. That said, the animation looks beautiful! I hope i get to see some line tests! Or maybe if you upload enough i'll make them myself ha! Can't wait to see this show!!
these look great! i'd love to see pencil tests that are in progress. it'd be great to see how you work through a scene. i'd actually rather see stuff that isn't completely inbetweened/cleaned up so we can compare it to the final. it would help us to see how you got there.
Holy cow...GEORGE GETS KISSED!!!! BY SODY POP!!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!! OMFG!!!!
Incredibly, he seems totally nonplussed by this. I would have thought that the top of his buzz-cut topped head would explode in a nuclear fashion if George was kissed by Sody. At the very least he needs to do a wild bug-eyed take.
I mean...that was just a kiss. From Sody Pop, the hottest chick in cartoons. Hell, Holly Would isn't anywhere near in her league. The Disney Princesses? Fuhgettaboutit! Betty Boop? Cute, but not hot. Jessica Rabbit? Close, but no, um, cigar. The only cartoon chick who has ever looked that hot is So White.
Then again, George Liquor is a man of superior morality. And there is the small matter that she might be a relative. OK, I understand now.
Great stuff! I could not decide which one to ink, so I covered my eyes, scrolled down and clicked on one :). You can see how I did on my blog. I would love to receive some feedback from you.
These Sody drawings are awesome. They're definitely eye candy in every sense of the word. I started inking these Sody layouts, you can see the first one on my blog here. If you have some more advice to give I'd love to hear it.
Thanx for the compliment! I don't have it in separate layers, but I can fix that for you if you like to. Which parts do you like to be in separate layers?
This is great! An iconic scene redone. So much movement. Everything seems so alive.
I also had a question about ILLUSTRATOR layers for the inkers. Should we use our own logic for separating parts of the character or do you have specific stuff for each scene that needs to be separated (clothes, eyebrows, hair, and so on)?
These are terrific John. The fluidity and energy in your work is fantastic. I enjoy seeing the originals before the cleanup they are amazing and seem extremely spontaneous.
I-I have no idea where to show this, so I figure I'd post it in the original post I saw. I wanted to practice inking and chose Sody for all of those fun curves. I hope you like it! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_HR3JtqIfTiE/RzCYB7igIuI/AAAAAAAAAT8/F7zOp64dWVI/s1600-h/S+Curves.jpg

why do you have an "inbetween" layout? (here) is it because of George's position?
FUCK! THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
WOW... YOU CAN FEEL THE LIFE ON THE CHARACTER
AND THOSE CURVES! PRETTY EXCITING!
ROUNDED PIECES OF MEAT!
THE DRAWINGS MAKES ME WANT TO SQUEEZE EVERY CHEEK OF SODY.
WONDERFUL JOB
daym! Sody could be the finest cartoon lady ever!
hEY! THE LAYOUT 01A GIVES ME A CHUCK JONES FEELING
Wow great! What an energy!
Lovely, definitely has the stuff of the old Elmer/Bugs smooch!
That inbetween is there because the smear is important to the scene's emotional punch.
