Wherever this girl comes from, she has a fantastic eye. There is a quality to her drawings that gives the impression of immediate movement. The dog and bear drawings look so soft and huggable, and yet there is an abstract quality in the handling of them. Great work, Miss Chloe!

Really interesting, Each page is like a synopsis of an animated cartoon. There's kind of a dream logic to them, and also that type of narrative in them.

The Bugs that Chloe is doing is closer to the older Clampett Bugs. rather than the newer Jones' Bugs, which is a little more generic.

These are ridiculous. She would make such an awesome animator

Tex Avery-era Bugs Bunny model sheet poses? Stills from another Tex Bugs short? Donald Duck? Inka? And Charlie Dog as seen in a Bob Clampett cartoon?
Chloe made some really good calls.

She has a very distinct style, like a liquid baroque. For some reason I see a very Rob Scribner quality, in the way that there is this sort of exaggerated quality of the forms -especially in that second Bugs Bunny one.

Is this the kind of artist you want to see more of John? In fact since you're trying to get her to simplify her drawings I gotta ask: what qualities are you looking for in young artists, is it their technique or more their eye?

I love her drawing of the dog from "Porky's Party". The Heckling Hare pics are great too!

Chloe's work has a very dreamlike quality to it. She has an appeal, a grace to her drawings, which is her calling card, in a way.

MUST- COMMENT...

The obsessive fluidity of these drawings that remind me of late Willem de Kooning paintings. Simply beautiful.

Those small hands on Bugs slay me!

Not sure if it is an accident of fluidity or what, and if her natural style of fluidity didn't already exaggerate expressiveness, I wouldn't accept it so.

In the past if i have seen such (It happens with comic book superheroe artists on occaision. Lou Fine maybe?), and I would rail against the freakishness, that might merely be from a lack of attention.

Its a bit like Rex. I somewhat fear Chloe or Rex drawing solid consistant modeled forms, because I am afraid it might make them lose the special spark they already have. I feel the same about Marlo, sometimes I thnk she could be taking at least the level of gigs Arnold Roth has if she was toning back the abstract expressionism in her work. WOuld it maker her less Marlo tho? Or Rex or Chloe less Rex or Chloe? What if Mary Blair was made to draw on model?

Generally, learning to draw more solid proportions does not though Kill style however. Walt Simonson is an example of a highly stylized designer who 'cleaned up' his act to draw better proportioned more solid and grounded anatomy and posing, and it only made him better.

Holy shit! I was just looking at the next post then I saw 'more Chloe'! I thought these drawings were a pile of messy poo!

I come from England and so do my eyes.

I like old bugs. 1941 bugs I think.

Also I jolly well love Inki. I am a fan of some of the artsier more pretentious Jones cartoon, when I hear him talking sometimes I identify with his pseudo intellectual, annoyingly aloof qualities.

Bad enough that you draw so beautifully, now you have to brag about your superior critical faculties as well!

Well, we still love your stuff, even if it earns us nothing but your contempt.
