*looks at own markers. throws away all my markers. looks at hands.*
The panel in the top right on the secound page is awesome. Impeach Obama, LIQUOR FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!!!!!
Hey,Those look awesome! Here are some cool Basil Wolverton comics. You can download the complete PDF at the bottom.BASIL'S CULTURE CORNER
Honestly, the second page and George with that face reminds me of how my dad is on this very same situation.
I like George's wife-beater tan lines; no doubt from when he was mowing the lawn. I wonder how old George is. Has there ever been a flashback to George's childhood?
Holy Crap! That George on the 2nd page is awesome! Nice work Kali..and you too John, I guess..)
AWESOME!just... Awesome.... incredible...magnanimous,etc.I wanna see George Liquor in Gran Torino, that would be great too hahahahaha
This is just what this recession needs! Some common sense from a man who knows his baragains!
Aw thanks Johnnie! ^__-
Beautiful!(BTW, that's the best way to fart)
It is very appealing.
wicks- thx fer wolverton link
Beautiful colors.......so pretty to look at!
Wow! Those look great!!!!!
OMG, I usualy don't like the "evil" George but now I DO! He's sooooo awesome ^_^. Great colors Kali!
Woah, fantastic.I hope some day you'll make a little tutorial on how to get started with markers. I envy this kind of stuff.
Beautiful work! Kali's quite a whiz at fun cartoon colors. And the second panel of George on page 2 reminds me a little bit of Bill Wray's title card from "Man's Best Friend."
Haha oh man! Love these. Especially the heavily rendered George. Kali did a great job coloring them!Hope it went well!! :)
Woah...That George picture in the second frame of the second block is friggin AWESOME with those crazed, multi colored eyes!!! I love it!
Thanks guys!!It'd be fun to show how John uses markers, as opposed to how I do. It's hard to verbalize besides everything John has already written about on his bog about color theories. After that I guess it's just technique.
My marker technique is conservative and predictable compared to how girls with talent use color.I can explain what I do, but can only marvel at what Kali, Katie, Marlo, Brianne and the bunch do by pure talent and instinct. They use surprising color combinations that I could never think of and it looks great.Talented girls make me mad. How dare they show us up! Girls have some 6th sense that goes beyond logic.Estrogen think.Luckily we have bigger muscles and gruff voices to keep them in line.
That notion of starring George in "Gran Torino" sounds plausible and such a tale would allow you to work in George's origin story. You could get backing from the same brain dead douchebags who brought the loot to rotoscope the remake of "Night of the Living Dead", which was up on Cartoon Brew yesterday, but you'd probably have to trace live action to get the dough. George Liquor is a great character awaiting the right tragedy to render hilarious. More than ever, now is his time.
Great coloring! Any chance we'll see this kind of coloring on the characters in animated form?
A nice thing about that George on the second page is that it used color to create that "flash light under the chin scary face effect".On the first page, the aqua green circles around Ernie's eyes, when he's grimacing, is a good, intuitive choice. Its not a "local color" type of choice. Its more interesting.
HOLY CROW! That's some great coloring on top of somefantastic drawings.
Those colors are gorgeous.
