IS that RUNAWAY BRAIN a trick question? You're always keeping us on our toes Mr. K.

Great stuff. I've never seen that Runaway Brain poster.

I'm glad you included some "modern" stuff for once. :D

But the new ones have charm because they are inspired in the classics.

The Terrytoons poster is great.

All these are great, Even Rich Aron's "Hornswiggle" Poster.

The cartoon itself had some flaws, but it looks like it was certainly fun to do, and I liked the design of the Rhino inspired by Jim Tyer’s Elephant in Sick Sick Sidney.

(By the way, is that cartoon on DVD? it's one of Jim Tyler's greatest pieces of work, and I haven't seen it in years.)

I suspected the Runaway Brain poster was a trick as well.

A pan-and-scan version of "Sick Sick Sidney" and other Deitch cartoons are available from Jerry Beck

Jim Tyer's work on Gene Deitch is great. Probably his best work in Terrytoons. There's some fun Clint Clobber and Gaston Le Crayon animation that he did. And he animated "Flebus" all by himself, too.

It proves one thing: It's possible to do cartoony animation on UPA influenced character designs. Deitch certainly proved that.

That one Mickey, on the left side, sure looks unhinged.
Runaway Brain; was it about crystal meth? Did they do an intervention? Did he get sent to rehab? Did Mickey wear an Amy Winehouse wig?

Thomas: Runaway Brain

I almost forgot how great this cartoon was. Stunning animation, lush backgrounds, and a little dark humor. I wish Warners today treated the Looney Tunes like this at least once.

The Balloon Land one is misleading. From the poster, you would never know that the cartoon is about a deranged serial killer.

Thanks Rick, i was probably being a little cynical with my comment. I'll take a look.

BTW Boo Boo Runs Wild has been posted on Comicrazies.

Yeah I have a copy of it on one of those cheap public domain cartoon compilation DVDs you see in bargain bins. It is terrifying! Ub Iwerks post-Disney cartoons are all very creepy.
