Kelly sent me this tightened up drawing of one of my scribbles. She did a pretty good job too, especially without any direction from me. She used some construction and principles to try to make my scribble look more solid. I would have a couple minor changes - which have more to do with my own hasty mistakes that I would want her to catch and fix (Like George's eyelids and brows). Maybe I'll draw over it and tweak it next week.

maybe you could do a post about cartoon music. I'm working on a cartoon short right now and it's hard to find anyone who knows how to compose good music for cartoons, like they used to do in the 40s. I currently have my composer watching/listening to classic cartoon DVD's to study the work of Carl Stalling and Scott Bradley!
Haha, John made a mistake! this was interesting! I didn't ever think to try and learn it this way!
I'm curious; not critiquing: is it a mistake to have both of George's nostrils on one side of his nose, or a creative choice?

It's a funny mistake, though! Like that one bit in the Ranger Smith cartoon you did where his eyes turn towards the camera but the rest of his face remains in profile.

You are very welcome, Mr. K :) Thank you kindly for the encouraging words. One of the biggest problems for me with on this image are the leg proportions on Mr. Spacely, and his general line of action. Regarding George's expression, my understanding was to follow the original sketch as faithfully as possible, and trying one's utmost not to deaden the energy. So I tried to play it safe and just copied every line that seemed important.
I would love to try a similar treatment on the picture of Judy and Astro. Can you give me any advice or direction before I attempt it? Please Please post your adjustments to this drawing next week!!
