John, I was heading home on rapid (?) transit after a libation or two with old friends just moments ago and at one of the platforms were a guy and a girl, probably in their early 20s, dressed as Fred and Wilma. Another passenger on the train with me, probably about 35 or so, remarked to no one in particular that's how she and her boy-friend went out a few years ago.
I think it's cool that almost 50 years after The Flintstones came out, people are still dressing up like them.
I don't see anyone going out as Pound Puppies for some reason ;)
There's something... something really cool about that George Jetson costume. I don't know. I mean, it has George Jetson written on it, a picture of him on the chest, and a mask too. It's just so redundant and senseless that... it works for me. Maybe it's because I've read this old cartoon merchandise like this?
All of the "Ben Cooper" Halloween costumes (sold at Ben Franklin Stores, mostly) followed the same general pattern of a logo and/or face of the character drawn on the chest with a cheesy, off-model plastic mask.
I never understood as a child why the costumes have pictures of the characters instead of looking like what the characters would wear. That's why I was glad my mother sewed our costumes - 'cause then we actually looked like the characters!

Happy Halloween, everybody!
Wait, fire retardant... does this mean on Halloween kids set themselves on fire?
I want that Popeye costume! I'd wear that while I hand out spinach to all the little bastards.
HAHAHA1 I love how the George Jetson outfit says "George Jetson" in case anyone forgot who you are while wearing the mask.
