John, have you ever heard of the English comiedians Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer? I grew up watching them, they're hilarious. Vic's a great cartoonist too. Here's a clip of them spoofing Masterchef.
well, it isn't paranormal activity, if you don't like cartoons that are trying not to be cartoons, im assuming you don't like movies that are trying not to be movies.
i'm very eager to know what the movie is too. Hope you say so in the next post. Was it cloudy with a chance of meatballs? i loved that. Fuuniest CG i've seen in a long time.

I've noticed that a lot of people commenting on this blog like to ask what John thinks of some piece of pop culture, usually in the hope that it'll be one of the few exceptions to his view of modern animation. (I've been guilty of the same thing - personally I'm still wondering what he thinks of Yellow Submarine, Krazy Kat and Leo Baxendale...)
But asking about Vic and Bob? Yes, they're great (I was rewatching some of Bang Bang It's R&M only yesterday) - but seeing their names brought up here of all places was a request that came out of nowhere!

What was the film titled?
Not "Where The Wild Things Are"?
And we're totally going to go see it again!
Don't leave us hanging, John. What did you see?
I hope it was WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE because that is a GREAT movie. Giant puppet suits and acknowledgement of what actual childhood is like ahoy!
Tease!

Ho Ho! Mr.John's happy!
I'm guessing "Moon"?
in the shadow of your 'hater' definitions, this particular posting of your own might be classified as 'ironic'. Everyone's a critic.
uuhh:D
Please don't let it be Wild Things.
Was it Zombieland?
Please don't let it be Wild Things.
no irony.

Hi Ollie, I can vouch for Vic and Bob too. They were a formative influence on me.
I don't know if you'd like Vic's drawings John, but they are funny.
I am rather intrigued about this alleged good film.
Couples Retreat?

I hope its not a movie I deemed crappy because then I'll just fall apart.

Nevermind - I was thinking of something else. Duh!
It looks great, though!
Good luck ever seeing a good movie ever again. Those things are harder to find than getting us out of this bad economy.
Last time I ever saw a decent film I was upset to find out that it was made years ago when films were actually good.
