Ernie prepares to give the interloper a beating.

DB is a trained mixed martial artist and quickly dispatches his victim with a punishing kick to the knee. The joint disintegrates.

Ernie seizes his shattered knee in agony as DB looks for his next prey.

Slab leaps off Bobby: "Hey! You can't do that to Ernie!"

He kisses his bully fist for luck.

Ernie eggs him on: "Preserve the honor of the Liquor family, Slab!"
Slab is eager; he knows he has a real fight on his hands: "This is gonna be good."

Donald's steely eyes zero in on his target. They touch gloves.

The clash of the titans is on! Violence returns to the cartoons! Will pooberty or training win??

(that last image is inspired by Kirby, the greatest fight artist ever)

awesome! :D XD lmao great kick mr.bastard! XD
alright!-thats what iam talking about! senseless cartoon violence and plenty of it! keep it coming!
It would be nice to see an x-ray view of what's happening to Ernie's knee. Just common courtesy for the viewer.
Nice fight scene, the 2nd drawing is tops!
Hah! Reminds me of the Onion AV Club review of the Thai action "The Protector".
"two positive messages for young people: Be nice to animals, and when in doubt, always aim for the tendons."
Holy cow, that's some raw street fighting! Bastard feints a punch and then goes for a kick behind Ernie's knees? Sweet!
Does this take place in an alternate reality from the face-eating story, where Slab and Ernie know DB?
Or is this a prequel?
it's like the 3 stooges
sometimes they know each other, other times no
haha nice!! epic fight.
Wow. That's the most beautiful kick-in-the-knee I ever saw!
More of my layouts
are ernie & slab liqours??? XD everybodys a liqour XD hahaha
The touch gloves image reminded me of the Rocky movies for some reason!
What fighting style does Donald Bastard train in? My bookie wants to know...
Love these!
John, would you welcome fight gags from your loyal readers / aspiring animators?
Do you have the whole thing worked out or let ideas flow from your pen as you draw it? Either way its great fun.
Can someone please buy John a drawing pad for his Christmas? That way he won't have to use this ruled paper.
; )
Great stuff as usual John.
This is gonna be better than
Penn vs. Sanchez!
From the looks of his leg striking ability, I'd say Donald has had some muay thai training. And we know he can use his powerful duck bite if it gets to down and dirty, streets of Brazil type fighting.
Most of these drawings would make great shirts. Hint hint.
If I sell the ones that exist now, I will make some new ones. Which one did you get, Trevor?
These drawings are as hilarious as the story.
>>Violence returns to the cartoons! <<
Hell, yes! Jeez these drawings are great!!!
AWESOMEAWESOMEAWESOMEAWESOME.
I was about to buy a Kaspar doodle, but the one I wanted was gone. And after ten minutes of shouting swear words at the ceiling, I decided to make a request: could you do some Jimmy and George Liquor stories next? I re-read the original four Spumco Comics almost religously.
it's like the 3 stooges

Um... not to nitpick, but I believe the 3 Stooges always start of together in all their films, all looking for work during the depression usually. I can't think of any of their films where they started out separately.
You might have been thinking of the Marx Bros. In their movies they always started off in different corners and would then become a team by the end (although Chico and Harpo were usually together at the beginning).
That's all beside the point. This story is very entertaining and is developing nicely. I can't wait to see how it ends.
It's a close battle!
"I can't think of any of their films where they started out separately."
Then you haven't watched them all.
Damn John. Did you know my family in the past or something? George Liquor is like my dad and me and my little brother are like Slab and Ernie. Both in personality and appearance.
I remember egging my little brother on in fights because he was always a better scrapper than me. There was this fat kid named Brandon that we'd always beat up too.
I love that slab fist kiss pose. This needs to be sold and aired!
Let Bastard each his spinach then he will really mess up Slab. (Popeye Style)
I feel bad for the three stooges among many other talented comedic acts of the Golden Age. They never got the respect that their serious actor and actress contemporaries got.
People thought that because their comedians they couldn't be token seriously in business matters or in real life situations etc.
