Cereals That Make You Able To Kill Everyone

If you eat cereals promoted by superhero cartoon characters, you wll definitely grow up to become monstrous freaks of nature yourself!
These are some box concepts created by Mike Kerr and me long long ago when there still was a Fox Kids.
Mike is a funny funny lad and wrote lots of good crap for cartoons and other things we did.

That drawing of Crag was done by Jim Smith who draws the funniest dead-serious expressions I have ever seen. That is a rare mystical talent.

Dear lord, I need that cereal. If only so I can cut the mask out on cereal-box cardboard and "pretend to be a grown man."

Wow
I will be printing that mask

Damn it JohnK! Your stuff is always the coolest. Just wanted to say Ren n Stimpy has inspired me to be an animator. I'd doing 3d (at animation mentor)... wish I could do 2d like you but not that good yet... Anyway. You sir, are awesome.

I wish cereal was still fun. I remember getting the best toys in mine. Now there is just mail in coupons for dvds that no one wants to buy (i.e Ghoulies 2) what kid wants that? or a healthy breakfast? I still have pixie sticks for breakfast.

please say this sold! I can imagine it now! All the little bots and girls of the world eating rice crispies, each bent by hand to give them some muscle!

DAMN!!! You guys do the best packaging designs EVER!!! You could make shoe polish fun and exciting!!

talkingtj - Ripping Friends has been on DVD for sometime now. Check ebay. If you have an all-region DVD player, I recommend getting this set. It has the complete 13 episodes of the series on 2-DVDs. The US release on 2 volumes is still incomplete.

Great art!

John, I just found this short cartoon from "Dexter's Laboratory", and I'm wondering whether or not Spumco was involved, because the expressions and animation seem similar.

These are really fun designs. I always enjoyed Spumco products. The packaging was always really well done and funny.

Are there any plans on releasing the full series of Ripping Friends on DVD?

Slap on some text that says something along the lines of "Now with Pooberty Hormones!" and you're all set.

Goddam great, these are! Print 'em up like uncut proofs and sell 'em, baby. They'll sell like hotcakes. Modestly priced prints! Go, Baby! Go! Screw it, like slicks, high volume!

How about Nietzsche Flakes, the breakfast of supermen?

gamzoo said...

Nietzsche Flakes. I like that. But when you open the box, it's empty.

gamzoo said...

maybe Nietzscheos would be a better name. To contrast the cheeriness of cheerios.

Captain Karanga said...

I LOVE the ripping friends, I wish they had more merchandise like Ren & Stimpy, I would certain buy it all.

Marty Fugate said...

Hey, remember, eternal recurrence...

You eat the freaking bowl of Nietzche Flakes, the universe eventually destroys itself, then there's another Big Bang, and everything happens exactly as before.

But the good news is ...

THERE'S A PRIZE INSIDE EVERY BOX!

These cereal boxes look great, whish my parents had bought me those ones during childhood!
