I would kill for that setup of Plasticene Yogi in Threadville Park. Someone replicate it for me.

Sorry, I haven't put up any posts of special moment lately; I am buried in gathering and choosing art for the Spumco book. Eric Bauza just showed up with some great Nick Cross stuff from an unproduced episode of Ren and Stimpy- an epic.

I'm really looking forward to that art of book! it's really going to be exciting seeing it all together!
Maybe I'll upload a couple of the drawings as a tease
Off topic but here are some photos of some preston blair egg models I made (for anyone to practice with).
I think the reason cartoons and bags go together well is that it makes it look more valuable or its the temptation to open it to reach in for the goodies. Or something like that.
exiting!
Hey John,
There's an article in the back of the most recent issue of Vanity Fair (the Hollywood issue) about the ladies that colored the Disney cartoons back in the forties. I ahvent' read it yet, but I thought you would be interested.
I love that still of that "Colorforms" kit of Yogi & friends.
Looks like Yogi killed and ate Ranger Smith and stole his uniform to wear, adding insult to injury. That is one seriously subversive bear!
Hey john, can't wait for the book.
Unrelatedly, looks like someone made a better obama statue than you guys.

at least in practicality terms
Please no more depressing 80's animation studio posts, it's so much better to focus on cool things rather than dwell on lame things...
Good luck with all your book work!
Hey John,
I've uploaded the entire filmation layout manual for you.

That Yogi Bear Cartoon Kit is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!
I'm really excited about the Spumco book!
HA! Baby Tuck-away holster set is killing me.
John, I've been a fan of this blog, and Spumco for a long time. I am really excited for the book of art. If you need a designer to help with any layout and production of the book, I'd be glad to offer my services.
I've never made any financial donations to the site, but if you need any help bringing this book to life, I'd be glad to donate my time and talent. Thanks for taking the time to share all this great insight on animation, character development, and all the ins and outs on how to make our drawings better.
ps- i apologize for the spammy nature of this post, but i wasn't sure if you needed any design help.
Looks like the pulled the pattern for the stuffed Fred Flintstone from this Mel Crawford golden book cover illustration - http://goldengems.blogspot.com/2008/02/flintstones.html
That color forms set kills me!
