Heartaches Pilot 5

CONTINUED FROM...

Roxie runs after the trash truck to save her precious pet toy poodle.

But she's too late! The truck drives out.
The camera pulls out as the truck sputters off with her best friend. She watches happiness disappear into the distance.
That evening, the hoary black cloud of despair hangs low over the Heartaches' house.
A destroyed family gathers to taste of the first bitter chunks of forever blanded suppers.
Mom wonders what the heck is wrong with her usually jolly child, the once sparkling globule of proud joy who now withers like a dried caterpillar besotten leaf before her eyes.

Poor girl, I remember having a toy that stayed with me as a child, although mine was evil and I wanted to get rid of it.

My little sister had a teddy bear named teddy. She had it for years and YEARS, one day after coming back from Florida, we lost it at the airport (I think maybe it was left on the plane?), to say she was devastated is an understatement.

Oh- never mind, I guess it's a garbage can.

Love the design of their house!

"Dried caterpillar besotten leaf" is like the saddest thing ever.

Salutations, I just found your blog. I really appreciate your artwork and that you take the time to teach the technical aspects of animation. I used to watch Ren and Stimpy as a kid. Your unique storylines have certainly influenced my work and given me a glimmer of hope that other people do share my relatively odd sense of humor.

John: Love the panel of the the house and yard! So that's how you draw a hedge of bushes and manicured tree! It's all shapes, shapes, shapes say all the masters. -- Mykal

Poor Roxy, never gets a break. Now her mom is mad, cause she isn't in a acceptable mood.

Hi John,

I thought you might be interested in browsing the digital archive at the Cartoon Library at Ohio State. A wonderful resource. Check it out: https://cartoonimages.osu.edu/

Although its probably not intentional, I like the way the dad is 'see through." Like the girl's mood is so black, she's just looking through everybody.

This is truly depressing. I don't think you need to be writing any more episodes for this show. Otherwise, I can't help but suspect that this is only going to be the beginning of the various woes that will befall this poor child throughout her tortured existence.

Blanded supper, huh?

The suits called and want you to make the satellite dish bigger and put on it whosoever brand name and logo they manage to sell it to.

These poses look great. I recently started to actually pick up a pencil again. Sorry to be off-topic, but could you look at my Tom and Jerry study? I really need some criticism. I suck a lot still.
