Heartaches Pilot 7 - Retracting Mystic Eye

Dad's mystic evil eastern eye shoots guilt demons into his unbeliever mate.

http://www.spiritrock.org/
Using the western concept of cause and effect, she smacks the mystical orb before it can inject its full power
Back home to its warm hair haven it bounces.
Father and Daughter reject Mom and she reacts with the extreme violence of soft pees.
A dark cloud unloads its terrible contents upon what was once a happy household, initiating an age of mistrust and despair.

I love that cloud of sadness attacking the house! He looks great.

Nice touch having the trees holding umbrellas!

Heartaches is my favorite. It's a good blend of qualities, but mostly it's just super cute and appealing.

I tried my hand at drawing a layout for this dinner scene. This scene has been really enjoyable for me, so I hope you enjoy my take on it:

I was wondering if you were still looking for people for the private cartoon college blog. The free blog is still awesome just wondering if the private lessons are continuing or if everyone has "graduated" yet. Thanks

Cause and Effect is an Eastern concept as well. Especially in Hinduism and Buddhism. I was raised on it. It's the only thing that's holding back from strangling one of my students >:)

The eye holds untold stories where it should have not been seen.

It would be funny, if Sody Pop could make cameo appearences in this Heartaches show. Just as Jimmy made appearences, in all the Ripping Friend episodes.

Hippie Dad and Crazy Mom remind me of a cartoon pitch from the early 2000s called Rock-n-Soul. It was an ABOMINATION -- Just about everything bad about modern cartoons rolled into one horrifying package. Its principal characters were a pair of conjoined fraternal twins -- one white and one black, making it vaguely racially offensive on top of everything else.

Anyways, the mom was a stereotypical fat sassy black woman who was also a doctor and made all the money, while the dad was a dirty hippie who pretty much stayed home and played his guitar. Stereotypical corporate BS, in other words, and we are supposed to believe these are normal and positive role models for kids. Because it's the 90s and men are jerks and women can be the breadwinners now.

Crazy Mom and Hippie Dad are much more faithful and honest, and therefore funny, representations of this dreadful stereotype.
