I thought Vincent Waller did a great job preserving the personalities of these characters in that Kurtzman adaptation he made for Oh Yeah! Cartoons a few years ago.
I love "Hey Look!" it reminds me of cartoons when I was a kid. They were draw really weird looking but still funny! I've also had a few of these ones in black and white for a while, I didn't know they came in colour too!
Nothing out today feels similar to "Hey Look!," but I can tell a lot of people looked up to it in the 90's.
I thought this is something you might be interested in helping raise awareness for. I just saw that Joe Murray is trying to raise funds on Kickstart to start a cartoon channel on the web. I watched the pitch and it sounds like something that might be up your alley so I thought I'd let you know. You get tons of traffic from cartoon lovers so a little bump from you could probably help a lot more than anything I've donated.
The book of the collected strips is great. Too bad you have to pay an arm and a leg for a copy today. It's cool to see it in color, though. Someone should reprint them again.

A little off-topic, but I found some cool Jim Tyer storyboards. These are very nicely drawn and solid looking.

These are great! I find out so much great stuff on your blog that I've never even heard of before.
It says "Hey Look" and I want to.
Hey John,

Kurtzman always brings a smile on my face.
Was Kurtzman also responsible for the coloring of these strips?
These are so cute! I love those comics!

If so, I gotta say, I don't get it...
No, they never call me for help.
I would argue it was probably for the best in this case!
