Hey John, I really like these I've learned so much about colour combinations from your posts on the subject. I've some of your character construction exercises on my blog if you could check em out when you have the chance please.http://doylecartoons.blogspot.com/
Hey John - any chance you can post the individual images at higher res? Kinda hard to make out the details.
Probably Carl Barks never put colors in his comics himself.
Awesome art John!I would like to ask if maybye sometime you could send me a PM with your email? (or is it on your blog somewhere?) I just love Ren & Stimpy (even though I haven't seen APC, because I'm WAAAY too young to even consider watching it) and I drew a two minute sequence on about 2 or 3 story boards, (some things I didn't know how to fill out) but I would really like you to take a look at them, and also I'm currently trying to write a script for it.Sincerely,Tyler.
I had forgotten about the spoof on the beagle boys, in the Manman and Boyboy episode,ha ha.
Fun. It sucks how these are so small and hard to see. I can't really make out the Carl Barks homage for that reason. If only the resolution was larger.I hope the Korean animators didn't screw up these color keys too. Your show got a bunch of undeserved crap from them.
In update to my previous post John, I posted the fist 2-3 minute storyboard sequenes from that R&S Cartoon that I made up that I told you about. Here you can find it as the first post on my blog at:www.Toonchamber.blogspot.com
I've saw a few episodes of RF. To me, it's a mistery why some characters were so well designed and drawn, while others stayed half way (for Spumco average, at least). It was a matter of budget?
Partly. Spumco didn't produce all the episodes.
I'm sorry to bring this up, John, but Howie Post passed away within the last week. 2010 is turning out to be a year chock-full of animation-related deaths, especially during these past few months, which to me, is very depressing. All the greats seem to be disappearing faster than ever, at least to me.
GREAT! FUNNY STUFF AGAIN! YAHOOO!!Hey, any chance to put the individual images in higher resolution?
Great villains characters! The Ripping Friends cartoon was better in the illustrations than in the final result. No offence, but i thinkin it was more stylised the pitch because the TV cartoon lose a lot of good potentials. But it's still better and much sincere than the other shows made at this time.
