Vintage UFC

I found these the other day. They are from the Golden Age of UFC in the mid 90s. I'm sorry I don't have higher rez versions.

That's Tank Abbot above. He is my all time favorite UFC fighter - not because he always wins, but because he's a true bully. A great winner and poor loser - but he's always super entertaining. I wish he would get into shape and get back in the Octagon. I always thought that if he just took it a little more seriously he would be unbeatable. I think he's one of the most natural talents there ever was in MMA.

They should at least have him on again as guest commentator. He was hilarious doing that. He couldn't compliment anyone. He just made fun of all the fighters. It was great.

Even back then, your drawing style still kicked ass, even if it was a bit different than it is now. Now I really wanna see more of the drawings you did as a kid, besides the stuff you might have already posted, like the Fred Flintstone I recall seeing on one of your posts. Those are cool.

Ha, I suppose if you consider raw power and immovability a talent, then yes, he was quite. A shame the way his career had to dwindle with countless losses and (ugh) the Kimbo sham...

One random day of my life around 2004, I was in the elevator at the building I used to work in Miami. The door opens and Tank walks in. I froze for a second, then I thought to myself, "nah it can't be Tank!" He was breathing hard staring at the door. Probably was there in one of the lawyers offices because he look mad. Took one more look and yes it was him. I got scared and didn't say anything. His facial hair was getting white but looked like could still bitch slap people to oblivion.

Nice John. Now you have Big Country Roy Nelson to route for, right?

The Abbot fence slam, and the Goodrich elbow barrage are two of my favorite KO's. Abbot was pretty terrifying in his heyday.

Too bad about Tank. He peaked when the sport was at it's lowest. He actually went over to WCW and embarrassed himself to make money.

Great caricatures, by the way. Does Dana White know about any of these, or your George Liquor commercial way back in the day? It seems like you could potentially work with him.

As far as your caricatures go, I don't like these as much as your beautiful people posts. But it gives me hope that I'll do better caricatures in the future like you have!

Tank was amazing and by far the best character in the UFC. I remember when he fought Don Fry and Fry elbowed him in back of the head for the whole 40 minutes.
