John what makes you choose the color you use for your line work.I would like too take classes from you, ive been drawing from Mckimson's work a lot latley. At the moment im going to school for illustration.Im also wondering what kind of medium are the old animation backgrounds are.
Are you using a cintiq or are you a marker genius?
I have real trouble keeping my marker lines clean. I've got some nice brush marker. In face, I even have trouble keeping my line/copic marker lines nice and smooth maybe it's the paper I'm using?
When you scan them you see all this bleed. Maybe I am moving my hand too slow?
Anyway, I loved the cat drawings especially the one where he is licking his paw. It's just a really nice rhythm. And as you know, all people on the internet love cats.
Also it's nice to see you drawing on something other than lined paper for once. Kudos. LOL Nah its okay. I understand you live in the states now where the dollar is taking the plunge. So paper is a valuable commodity!
As a fellow Canadian I can tell you our currency (the 'screwy' for those of you who don't know the name of it.) is doing alright for now, since I can afford the finer papers. Such as cardboard. And glued sawdust planks.
Anyways, keep up the awesome work! (blog for nerds.) And love your drawings man! :)

It's raining cats and dogs....doodles.
Great drawings ! How to make funny and original expressions with cute little animals without being "stock".
Is it for The Heartaches ?
A wallpaper for your house? Or for our computer desktops? Either would be exciting! :)
Cute animals, too.
These are extremely appealing! I love the perspective-y cats on the last sheet.

Is that in Illustrator? Looks nice so far.
Nice! Did Kali paint those top ones?
Keying? Does this mean you have a real animation project going again at last?
Your 'vectorized' color schemes are always a treat. I usually get a cotton-candy aftertaste whenever I look at dem' dere inking tests.

Nice work here John. Any updates on the Spumco Book?
Again. Howie Post. Sheldon Mayer. Not imitative but in that same energized ballpark.
And Tyer. And Gross.
Nobody doodles like John K. These are great.
I'm going to start doodling dogs and cats more. There are so many different breeds you never run out of ideas.
