i like the ceramic in the last shot. looks like fred is going to devour wilma's head while crushing her foot with his mighty toes. also heartily approve of their styling on his pre-established hair design, a sign of honest, genuine fred-ness.
Hi John, I'm off topic here, but I wanted to ask if you had seen the "new" retro boxes of Cap'N Crunch cereal with Jay Ward's artwork on them? I hadn't seen these designs since the '60s and didn't even know that Jay Ward had designed the original characters. I'm hoping this is a sign of new found appreciation for hand drawn artwork, and 2D animation!
I like how you labeled that one as the Pixar Flintstone.
There's just something about the inhuman sterility and smoothness of it combined with the stunning unspecificity (is that a word?) of it that makes it look like a Pixar creation
Hey, I've got the matching crystal Barney myself! I always wondered what the Fred looked like. I wonder if they were the only ones they mase, sometimes they didn't bother with "the goils" because they're such different sizes and tend to tip over easier.
John: Please don't ever mention Pixar and the Flinstones in the same post again. Please? It might give someone the idea of a movie, and if it came to fruition I would have to blow my brains out.
PS: Wow! Did any cartoon ever generate more off-beat toys that the Flntstones?
John, I have a Barney Rubble doll like the Fred one with no neck. I proudly had it signed by the late, great Joe Barbera at American Royal Arts in Westbury Long Island (where it was at the time, and where I met you!) and sadly the autograph wore off over the years...Love the dolls though.
I concur the last Flintstones tchotchke of Wilma and Fred canoodling is precious. Pixar will not do The Flintstones unless Time-Warner loses its mind, that'd be like letting Bugs Bunny or Daffy get Disney-fied. Oh, wait, I did get dragged tonight to see 3-D Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole - and they did a CGI version of Coyote and Roadrunner before the feature - Pixar may not not do it, but Warner Brothers will probably do it for them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rybnqhfKlr8&feature=related

That post-hippie Flitstone is not of this world. It must be destoryed.
Wowsers: that see-through Fred is pretty neat. I wonder if there are others, like a Betty...
Is that Russian egg-style Flintstone all that off model, after all? It copies Ed Benedict's trademark bags under the eyes, for example.
What were those bags ever supposed to be for, anyway?

"Visible Fred" may be fun and educational, but I prefer lipstick wearin' Fred dancing with topless Wilma.
New comic! Eh? Eh?
Don't Let This Happen To You!
I love the see-through Fred Flintstone!!

A true transparent Fred toy should have views of his digested bronto ribs and cactus cola, as well as the collected smoke from his Winston cigs.

In that Flintstone nesting dolls picture, what exactly is the image on that littlest doll? If it is what I think it is ............ew.
I like that crystal Fred as well. It's kind of like Crystal Pepsi only somewhat more appealing (and not quite as toxic).

I don't even remember where mine came from.
