Mykal Posts a lot of great old comics and here're some previews of a story from "Ha Ha" featuring your favorite Jim Tyer character, Pete the Parrot.
I wonder how Tyer developed this drawing style?
It's so unique - and a more elaborate variation of his animation style.

This issue of "Ha Ha also features a black and white page of a Dan Gordon comic.

Two prominent influences I see: Freddy Moore and Theodor Seuss Geisel.
Dr. Seuss is a whole topic unto himself.
That cat who hugged the porcupine will die. Those quills are barbed and will just work themselves further and further into the body until they hit vital organs.
He worked Tyrelessly.
Ahahaha these are awesome. I love how the guns squish into their noses.
the hands on those Tyer panels are fantastic.
I wonder if Tyer was a fan of Lyonel Feininger. His style looks like a mix of that plus what was being done in animation at the time.
Hi John,
I just wanted to pass on some encouragement, It's amazing. Of all the studios I've worked for, my students are always the most impressed with 45 days I spent at Spumco.
That means YOU have still got it, Mr. K. You have not been out-moded by the contemporary cartoon target market. I truly hope one of your properties is greenl-lit soon!
Best,
Ashanti
