Cool drawing. Is it from the 80s because Mr Meat looks like a lost MM villian

Hahaha, nice. I could imagine Mr. Meat bringing around a dusty old audio playing device, and cranking that tune out.

Does his gun shoot gravy? Great design.

I think it is his lack of trousers that unnerves me most about this character... He looks like one of those people you don't want sitting next to you on a bus.

Mr. Meat has great taste in theme songs! I used to love that tuneful old jingle for Dominion grocery stores. Sadly, John, much has changed here in your home country since those glorious days gone by...

Haha, excellent! I wish I could shop for meats at Dominion.

If Mr. Meat should ever have a female sidekick or something, she ought to wear something resembling the Gaga raw meat dress!

I would like to see him have a battle to the death with 'Villainous Vegan.'

It's mainly because of the Meat,
Mainly because of the Meat,
Yes, it's mainly because of the Meat!

Oh great, now that's stuck in my head.

Wow! I haven't heard that ad in years. Dominion is long gone. Thanks for the blast from the past.

One of my favorite billboards along the Gardiner expressway, years and years after the jingle was no longer in use, was the one for Dominion with this slogan. Is he the nemesis of Veganman?

I seriously just warped back in time 30 years to when I was a little kid living in Teranna.

Whatever happened to Dominion?

WHERE WILL THE MEAT MAN GET HIS MEATY POWERS? Surely not A&P!

If Dominion had such quality meats, why did the whole franchise disappear? Maybe if Mr. Meat was their mascot they'd still be in business. ;)

That is a cool drawing. I'd love to see an episode with him in it.

Reminds me of time while working at Allied Visual Artists, a neighboring studio rep came to us asking us if we could digitally paint "meat" textures. That studio was on Gower and Melrose, and may have been an early version of Spumco.

Would HE HOG be a good place for Mr. Meat to make a cameo or supporting role?

Meanwhile, what do folks here think of THE ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN? Rather than a 2D comic, previews show a more realistic version of a Pixar-class adventure tale. Still, the preview left me cold (another CGI tour de force with more rendering, more complexity, same glitches, same somewhat sterile feel). Am I wrong here?

I don't like the visual style of Tin Tin, never realy was intrested in the comics eather. Tough i like the graphical style of Hergé at times.
But the whole visal style of the Tin Tin movie somehow discust me and its keeping me from watching the damn thing.

Awesome design. Was it colored by Lynne Naylor?

Also John, I remember in your speech at Bristol about how you called Sponge Bob conservative, but that's really the network's fault and not the cartoonists. Take a look at some of these great roughs by Robert Ryan Cory:

Nick always tones them down, the sissies.
