To some, character merchandise is just too much of something that exists everywhere. But to this kid, who had a Huckleberry Hound rug at the foot of his bed in the 60's, it was a thrill and a mystery.
Do kids still have this joy, of holding on and being connected to their heroes by a cheapo plastic totem, or have things reached critical mass.
Is there still a thrill lurking in the simple toys our kids get today? I hope so.

@jeffreyJack I have a hard time finding my kids just a basic toy anymore to be honest. Now product creators try to twist everything into one: artificial intelligence, sounds, heck even USB connections.

Wow. I'm overcome with jokes, but they're all racist. Wonder if I should comment on the fact that the origami packages drew the HB characters to look stoned?
Why? You can't fold paper when you're a tokin'! Even rolling papers! When I'm high I can't even fold the laundry!

The Chinese seemed to have made Yogi and Quick-Draw alittle stoned-looking.
Unlike many other animated characters, HB toons translate well into three dimensions. I can't say why, but it's true.

I love seeing how the Japanese interpret our culture. Origami Yogi Bear sounds like a ton of fun to make.
