Bang bang!! I got mine!! But seriously, does Fred have a neck? Shoulders weren't invented till the seventies with the advent of ScoobyDoo. Maybe Fred's necktie helps his head stay stable. That's why we ask the experts.
I would have wanted that Pebble Park toy when I was a kid, but the whole time I'd be thinking how cool it would be if they made an Allosaurus body to go with the neat-o head.
Wow, I was just telling someone about those Fred F bubble pipes, through which my brothers and I inhaled gallons of liquid soap due to the overly generous "bowl" for said fluid. I also remember them as HUGE, requiring both hands to use. When I saw one at your house a while back I was startled by the actual size, i guess my hands have grown a bit in the ensuing five decades. Either that or the pipes shrunk...
Never saw the arcade toy before but what an amazing one! Love the early Ed artwork too. Fred and Barney's hair as amorphous leafy mudpies are highly preferable to the later sanctioned versions. Science has proven this about cavemen...
Lastly: rhetorically speaking, what does it say about me that I read the word "uvula" at first glance as "vulva"?
I had a creepy bubble-pipe like that when I was little! I think it was of Bam-Bam or something. I also had other non-character ones... that wasn't eve 20 years ago, but I wonder if they still make these for kids? I have distinct memories of getting lots of nasty tasting bubble-wand soap in my mouth anytime I tried to use the pipe though, yuck-- I must have been using it wrong, haha
