I loved Cuddley Dudley when I was little. Every morning before school on WGN here in Chicago. He was on Ray Raynor's morning kids show. Ray always looked hungover like my dad. Thought that was normal.

Very pleasing style and colors.

Love these, i was always a crumby painter. Love the texture around the tree on the Yogi Bear and the Cranky Magician. Were these styles an inspiration in Ren and Stimpy?

It sounds like you've been really busy, John. What are your upcoming plans? I really miss those in-depth cartooning posts that you put so much heart and soul into.

So have you been busy w/ new projects? Please let us know, we're always interested :) .

But nice designs. The one with people looking up at the skyscrapers is real cool. Nice composition.

I used to see all of those Golden Books and imitators by the box-load in my dad's used bookstores. He'd buy them in droves and sell them cheap. The colors and design work in them and on them was top-notch. Even the shape of the covers and the bindings were great! Nothing anything like them in bookstores these days!

Does anyone have a good source for learning how to do illustration with gouache? Stuff like this?
