Those comments have been confusing me for a long time now, why the hell does that person speak in long/pointless anecdotes? They're off topic and clutter the comments.
Hurricane Sandy has been terrible, but fortunately I got power back and here are some new inkings I did of your characters in ToonBoom. I apologize for the lo-rez files earlier, I found out how to export jpegs from ToonBoom so the file quality is better from my last post.
I know there is many people that may use your blog to post random comments, but you do share lots of information that is unique and helpful to cartoonists.
I confess that I used to look forward to reading John K's blog to hear his expertise on cartooning and film. Now I am addicted to the comments page and seeing what hilariously out-of-context and weird comments will be posted each day. It puts a smile on my face.
John, these comments are from a spam robot. They looked like they're automatically generated from past comments on the blog. But they're not from a person.
Definitely a spam bot. I get emails like this all the time from lovely people such as Claire McRibboy with descriptive addresses such as zgvdgb@xvcdgbViagra.com
No seriously, it IS a spambot. They'll post random gibberish from sources like ebooks to avoid looking like spam and setting off automatic filters, then bury what they're advertising in the gibberish. It's like in the movies when someone steals a guard uniform, or an alien steals a human skin.
Perhaps, JK, if it doesn't cost you extra money or much (if any) time, you could shovel "compulsive" comments like greenhornG's into a special parallel blog (possibly the twilight region or similar?), thus freeing up space for people who want to comment on what you've actually posted?
While I can't attend your Nov event in Burbank, hopefully you or associates can post some of its details afterwards?
It's almost like she's using this blog, and us, as some kinda twisted research experiment for psychology or something like that... I'm guessing it's by seeing how we react to these mumble-jumble posts and conclusions we make of her posts, and her. That's my theory.

Incl. the fact most have no relation to John K's work, and go off in a tangent so intangible that even a graphics calculator can't comprehend it.
But y'know, some guys o'er here are right on-- these comments could make very good gags, or "cartoon fodder" as one put it. Look at how nonsensical or ridiculous these are. I betcha cartoon writers (these days; see 'Regular Show' and 'Adventure Time' for ex.), are prolly milking from this goldmine of random garble.
These comments could just be as surreal as "Porky in Wackyland", or "Tin Pan Alley Cats"... or even stranger! ._.
Though I think the garble could be constrained just a bit, before IQs start dropping or somethin'. :<

Naked Lunch made more sense than these posts. I think she's a spambot too, but if she's not, then this is honestly terrifying. Schizophrenics are so creepy.
I'm a very seasoned software developer. I thought greenhorngallery was a spambot at first, but now I'm pretty sure she is not. (I'm not as sure she is actually a she, but I suspect she is.)
I've got two points of evidence to support my conclusion. 1. The meanderings do tend to have the same voice, but they are connected just enough to the actual content of this blog (including other commenters!) to suggest that she is actually thinking and typing. Also, the comments are separated by enough time to think and type, but clustered together instead of haphazardly thrown in. All hallmarks of actual personhood.
2. If she's a spambot, shouldn't she have links to something that she's trying to sell, or another website, or something? It's really hard to make money from spam if you don't actually have anything you try to sell...
John, I think you could make a whole 'nuther blog just on greenhorngallery's comments.

jesus, it's amazing and unsettling how someone can turn a tiny fragment of what you say into an excuse to tell their whole life story.
Have you ruled out the possibility of an elaborate spam bot?

A star is born on John K's page. In the past few weeks I have grown addicted to the bizarre and hilarious comments page, and we all know why.
Ironically, her art is pretty good.
When I go to comment, the comment box says, "Comment moderation has been enabled. All comments must be approved by the blog author."
Can't you just delete the weird comments?
