By the way I have an idea on how to share some of these animation clips with you guys
to make some user-generated mashups of silly scenes to music lines
any music you like
all the animation is timed to beats and even the dialogue is rhythmic - it sounds as bouncy backwards as forwards
You could make some fun loops I'll bet
maybe I'll start a youtube channel if anyone's interested in creating some good beats with cartoon accompaniment.
Mr. 23 is coming in tomorrow to take a whack at it.
whattaya think?

Engaging the community is a great idea, take a look at the My Little Pony fandom!
I would absolutely love to do that. I was a DJ for five years and it'd be nice to remix something fun!
Any objection to using any of the old R&S needle drop music?

can't thank you enough for all this sharing Mr. K. I still keep searching tags for Kirk Douglas or Disney or Kurtzman or perhaps the most important word of all; "design"....hope that the YT duty works out fanta
Clip/beat matching mashups sound like excellent idea, JK.
This kind of drawing keeps 2 and 2.5D alive and on its toes, especially since symmetry got claimed by 3D CG years ago.
Incidentally, JK, hopefully you'll get chance to see and comment on PAPERMAN, the Pixar 3D short tweaked by 2D artists.
the eyes are very important part of the drawing, the expressions are sharper right through the position, personally I like drawing them with certain expressions, but always mocking way. :)

Hey John,
Who did the clip/beat matching mashups with the Ren & Stimpy opening?
I always loved how those crazy cartoony clips from "Big House Blues" matched up to the beat of Jim "Jelly-Roel" Smith's wild guitar playing!
As for the "Cans" clip mashup, I would love some jazzy music. Something like Raymond Scott or some Swingin' Dixieland Jazz! :)
That would be great, Mr. K.
I would love to see how it fits with Mingus.
F.
I'll do it! I'd make it funky.

John, I've been a big fan since you were working with Bakshi in the 80's.
How is it you don't have a YouTube channel and put up all the Ren and Stimpy shorts? It could probably fund your next film. Seriously, look what it did for the Monty Python guys.
If you need help with it let me know!
cheers,
sean wickett
Mr. K, my name is Luke and I have an incredible idea that needs your artwork expertise. You are a childhood hero of mine and i don't think any illustrations but yours will fit with my invention. It would be more than appreciated if you could provide a PO box or an address or any contact info so I could send you more information and communicate more about my creation. Thank you for your time sir!
