The Armenian Chipmunks and More

Here are some sketches I did of the Chipmunkians per Auralynn's direction

the show stars
Antaboblian Aglop

and their always stressed leader Damiliobe Sevillian - and his wives.

and she found this set of sensual sketches from talented animator Lenord Robinson:

I remember that my mom explained to me about Saville/Bagdasarian. How he was Armenian and how they had been the victims of genocide. (My mom's dad was Jewish, so she was sensitive to this kind of thing.) The material I subsequently read was my first exposure to such crimes...all thanks to Ross Bagdasarian and cartoon chimpmunks!!

Bagdasarian also played the frustrated pianist/composer in Hitchcock's Rear Window. Just across the way from Miss Lonelyhearts.

Even as a kid I thought the chipmunks were awful and hideous, but a necessary chunk of our culture somehow.

Later I finally realized that kids are spoonfed crap all the time. I sure am glad for JohnK's spoonfed crap though. Its yummy like Maypo.

Hey John!

You may remember me from Fred vs George. I packed up my day job to commit full-time to cartooning. I would love to be a part of anything that you are working on. You can find some of my work over at

Perhaps after CANS WITHOUT LABELS is finished, JK could consider/do an Ultimate Fighting short between various cartoon characters he has rights to work with.

George Liquor .vs. tree weasels?

Hi John!

Well I'm a big fan of your work, I'm starting a small cartoon company here in Colombia, (that's why my english is not so good), and I'm trying to apply into a scholarship here in my country and I want to study there in the U.S. So I would like to know which collage or institute do you recommend to study Animation, so I can try to apply to it and get that scholarship.

Thank you so much for your attention!
