Wow, I can just picture a CG film made with character designs like these. I wish the studios could, though. I'm working on things that could expand the boundries of CG to match what can be done in traditional cell type, but I first have to manage the easy little trick of going from unknown nobody to creator/director on some typ of project. Good luck to me with all that...

There really shouldn't be that big of a issue translating the designs to 3D. If they're using proper construction, there should be a solid 3D foundation to build it on.

Some of the freedoms of hand-drawn animation, and the ability to sometimes use cheats, may be limited, but really there's nothing you couldn't achieve in CG that you can hand drawn. It's just that the productions we've seen so far aren't interested in taking the extra time to pull it off.

OMG, thank you for sharing these awesome drawings! Its actually so hard to imagine a movie like this getting made, it looks too good and inspired. They should have just let you make it, what the hell were they thinking?

Gee, Johnny K., thank you. But can you please show me more of your awesomely funny story sketches for Free Birds (formerly Time Turkeys)?
There's more to your work than just the exploratory designs, particularly for that upcoming movie.

Funny stuff, I love it! I've been a fan of your work since the Ren and Stimpy show. Your blog has been my favorite for years. Thanks for making me laugh while teaching me art the way of the industry.

Wow! What nuggets! Interesting. I'd never thought anyone would see the day that ANY studio would have you on for a theatrical feature, and too bad that they didn't use your ideas, either.
