Off-Model George is my fave!
I will find them someday!
it's funny, You see some toys like that today."Mighty Muggs"But they don't look nearly as fun as the Japanese Cinderella or Dwarfs.
Our car is Japanese off model. It's not quite as fun as these toys.
I actually think that George looks great!
I like the Donald Duck and nephews.
haha! That George is amazing!
I could go with that Mickey.
Off-model George looks like he wants to murder me! I guess I have new residents in my nightmares
So when are you going to collaborate on a puppet show?
That off-model Mickey looked kinda creepy for a minute. George looks awesome though.
Those are amazing, Disney meets folk art. I wonder if they ever made Popeye kokeshi dolls. He made the greatest tin toys ever.http://www.BubbleBlowers.com/pages/253_pic.htmlThe George Liquor is very impressive too.
I'm not so sure I'd describe these as "off-model", so much as being "abstracted" versions of the characters. "Off-model" suggests something more like those vaccuum molded plastic Halloween masks that John has posted pics of in the past: amateurish interpretations so weird that they're strangely endearing. These Japanese toys are cute enough I suppose, but I'm rather indifferent to them myself.
Anime is essentially off model Betty Boop or Bambi. Because apparently Osamu Tezuka got his inspiration of off Disney and Fleischer. While the results are not up to par to the two animation giants I still respect what hes done.
Hahaha cute minimal design unlike the modern Chinese off-model crap toys you can find in dollar stores.
