I absolutely love the Cousin Sven episode! Ren sure does get angry.

From Sven Hoek...one of my favorite scenes ever. My friend and I used to imitate Ren's performance to each other all the time.

The best thing to ever happen on the history of television.

The shot with the spiderweb, showing Stimpy and Sven shivering without arms looks horribly sadistic. Madness! I love it.

This must be the heritage of decades of psychological drama in films.

Thank you, Mr K.

Wow, awesome expressions! :D Have to draw & learn from those! Thank you for sharing.

Loved to hear some tips for animating here on blog.

That music was crazy in that scene. It would work well as one of those relaxation tapes; a narrator would speak over it instructing you to calmly explain how you intend to vent your anger.

Excuse me, John K., sorry for pressing Report Abuse. It's an accident. I didn't even think twice. It won't happen again.

I have this entire monolog as it originally aired memorized. I love your work so much. It's too perfect, the spider web background. They will forever make the worst days better.

When my mom was angry at me when I was a kid, occasionally she'd fly into a rage and then be overtaken with a sudden, foreboding calm.

This is one of the few Ren & Stimpy scenes she genuinely, heartily laughed at.

I love this scene! The weight when Ren punches the air and says "im gonna hitcha, then your gonna fall" Is beautiful!

I just uploaded a comic I created as a sort of end unit project for my self study of your lessons John. I thought you may be interested in looking at it, and I was hoping it may serve as a audition for the cartoon college. Many thanks for the lessons, and cartoons!

Here is the post

I remember this scene being terrifying. But very impressive, very ahead of it's time in terms of specific acting and functional drawing.

Also, do you criticize layout practicing? I've been working on a layout for practice reasons.

You know, as an animator myself, I like to go back and find the episodes with you in the director's chair. Then I like to find the individual SHOTS that I know you personally oversaw, because the quality is night and day, even in your own episodes. I suspect this scene is one of your babies, and right at the peak of Spumko's budget with Nickelodeon, being able to afford all those fastidious tween frames.

This is jaw-dropping work, John. Thank you so much.

Oh yeah, that scene was great, crazy and legendary. Undoubtedly Ren & Stimpy is the best thing that could have happened to the world of cartoons, and one of my favorite cartoons.

The style of Ren & Stimpy inspired the famous Spongebob and many other cartoons.

John, you are a genius.

I have a suspicion that the hours I spent trying to replicate these exact drawings in my sketchbook are going to come in handy for a comic I'm drawing pretty soon. Except that the ending I have planned for it makes this look like Barney and Friends. That's what having zero execs will do for you....

Oh god, that episode was great.I love every minute and the way that Ren explodes, was really amazing.

I love your job John K,I hope one day I can meet you :)
