Here are some great character designs, all from one single cartoon.

Each one is different - a specific character, yet they are all in the same style family.

They are deceptively simple, yet they have all the design principles I talk about in my manuals.

Plus they're funny.

Here's some brilliant organic asymmetry.

We have been sketching these and analyzing them.

Want me to break down what makes them great?

I have an idea why John, but I just want to hear it from you man! :)
The suspense is killing me, why John why? :)
Want me to break down what makes them great?
You really like to make us beg, uh?
Yes, of course we want!
Sure!
I believe that it's b/c all the lines of action lead to the facial expressions. The second to last does it the best with the leg lines zig zaging to tie... and arms framing while leading. Even though I agree they are great.... some are equal heads tall (to their bodies) so they could be made better.
I'm just guessing, but what I can tell from the screen caps is that the characters were designed with pleasing, individual shapes, as well for varied, but well designed shapes with a good amount of balance. Also, the first two screen caps have excellent silhouettes and negative shapes. Am I close yet, John?
P.S. What did you think of the Electric tiki produced Woody W.P Statues?
i think the old lady has to be the best out of those bunch she has much going on in her design
i love this style, infact my icon uses some of there principles :)
Most importantly, they're funny!

Yes, for the love of god, break them down so we know what makes them great because to me they look like lumpy potatoes with arms and legs sticking out of them. They also look ugly too, but I'm open minded and want to learn.
thank you
Yes sir.
Oh sorry about that ! Wrong link. This will make you vomit.
Cool character designs, John. Most cartoons wouldn't put any thought into characters like these because they're not important to the story.
PC is that actually the box art? It looks like furry art. Why do they spend a lot of money on the extras for these cartoons and then give it repulsive box art that will make people not want to buy the set. They might as well display the set on store shelves in a soiled paper bag and ask people buy it. Do they want people to hate Looney Tunes?
Yes that is artwork for Volume 5 of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection. A paper bag would be a vast improvement.
