That inflatable rabbit makes me feel dirty. Coin Kitty is even worse. She just begs for you to shove coins in her. I like the lamb though.Could we have more pictures of toy lambs? Toy lambs have influenced me in a weird way and I always like more inspiration from the past!
I have an eye for the odd as does Mike F, it seems. Several weeks ago I picked up a weird bowl/vase thing shaped and painted like a Cocker Spaniel, but ithas 3 sets of eyes, one on each side of its triangular skull-top, so even when you look at it from behind, it's looking right at you.
Holy crap! I had that damn lamb when I was a kid. Was it ever creepy. I think a great aunt gave that to me when I was a toddler. I remember selling it at a garage sale when I was thirteen. The eyes were so weird, they could open and close depending on how you held the damn thing.
Nice weird toys.Once I was in a flea market inside an abandoned cotton mill here in the Carolinas. On one table I saw a cast iron toy of Beaky, the goofy vulture from a couple of WB toons from the 40s. It was really heavy, painted in the original toon colors. I put it down and walked off to look at some stuff on another table. When I came back, someone had bought it. Like $5 or something. Alas.
Here's my first attempt at 'George introduces Mabel'.George- trevor.
that creepy lamb even has crows feet! i'll protect you from him, mike.
I know this has nothing to do with this posting in your blog...but I was curious on your opinion John....How in the world did this get past the censors back then???http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC2D14fBtow

Some of Those Neat Toys Really Take Me Back Into The Past.It Must Be That Cute Infatable Rabbit That keeps Staring atme Trying To Tell Me Something. The Bunny Deserves First placeFor Being able To Float WhileHolding a Carrot In His Right hand.
I love Personlamb. His eyes are smiling at us.It's nice that once upon a time someone took the trouble to think up all those shapes. Perhaps in an effort to improve upon nature.
Looks like Jeff Koons had a flood sale.
My favorite is the "atomic" cat (fifth photo down)The eyes on the lamb are pretty unsettling,I wonder if the kid who originally had it slept well with it in the same room at night.I could just picture its eyes glowing an errie green, watching, waiting for the moment when its owner will drift off so it can.....Happy thoughts..must think happy thoughts!
